So what does a 19 year old college student (at the time) with unlimited internet access and a lot on his mind do? No, not that (get your mind out of the gutter). I started a blog instead.
I’m Josh Sidorowicz and I’m currently a junior at Michigan State University studying broadcast journalism and political science. And, when I’m not in class I’m roving campus and greater East Lansing for stories as The State News’ sole multimedia reporter. Now don’t get me wrong, I love East Lansing and love being a Spartan and attending MSU but my heart is, and always will be, in Detroit, and so….cue the blog!
It was a mix of being homesick and freakin’ exhausted, as I was trying to make it through my first year of college, that prompted me to start blogging about the city I love and all the awesome things and people that are putting the city back on the map. If anything, the blog offered me a sort of escape from the daily trials, tribulations and stress that come along with being a college student.
And with that, welcome to jdetroit! I’ll do my best to entertain you, possibly enlighten you (don’t count on it) and inform you (hopefully) on all the latest and greatest going down in the D.
