Street Fighting Man

It’s being dubbed as a story of survival and community action.  A new documentary film by award-winning director Andrew James sets out on the East Side of Detroit to document what life is like for a struggling community in transition.  The film’s main character of focus, James “Jack Rabbit” Jackson, a retired cop and community activist living in the Chalmer’s neighborhood, has decided to take matters into his own hands after the recent closure of the local police station.

From what I have seen of the preview video, it looks to be a riveting and heartfelt look into the lives of the individuals in some of the hardest hit areas of Detroit that have chosen to “stick it out” and fight for the future of their city.
