MSU grad, entrepreneur and Detroit advocate

…otherwise known as the trifecta in my book.

Thanks to @CharlieCurve (i.e. Charlie Wollborg of Curve Detroit) on Twitter, I came across a great interview with Henry Balanon on MetroMode.  Balanon, who I had the opportunity to meet with a few times over the summer during my business and marketing internship, is not only one of the most likable guys around but is also the founder of his own mobile application development firm, an MSU alumnus and a proud Detroiter.

To me at least, Balanon appears to be the quintessential young Detroiter. Somewhere around time when the bottom fell out in 2008, Balanon used the opportunity to innovate and create a name for himself.  His rising fame within social media circle here in the city is one to behold and only goes to show what is possible with some personal drive, vision and creativity in Detroit.

Balanon who is also one of the co-founders of a great food blog right here on Tumblr “The Hungry Dudes” also runs an MSU alumni group DetroitSpartans.com.

Check out the entire Q&A session here.
