ettiord asked: I know I sound insane, but I believe I'm a Detroit even thou I've never set foot in it. Everyday I read about that great stories coming from the city and begin to cry because I'm not there, do you think that this is odd or just some cry for attention like the others flocking to the city to take pictures of the ruins? Because I don't want to be seen that way, I just want to be seen there, in the town that fills my dreams and my heart, and trust me the first chance I get, I'm coming.
No, absolutely not at all.
I think what makes Detroit so special is that individuals, like you, feel this unexplainable connection and love for the city whether they have lived there all their lives or have only seen and read about it from a distance. Think about some of the other great cities in the world like Paris or New York that conjure up that same fascination.
It is going to be the people like you, the people that want to be a part of Detroit’s future, that are going to turn the city around. I do hope that you make it here one day to experience it because once you feel it and breath it, that’s when you finally and completely understand it and appreciate it.
And thanks for sending in the comment. Keep ‘em coming!
