Really. I’m not kidding. And why would I be for that matter?
Pop City Media recently put together an article talking about the different positive aspects of Detroit that other cities like Pittsburgh would love to have. The apparent can-do spirit that has been ingrained into the people of our city is starting to really garner some attention elsewhere around the country and with nowhere else to but up that “lets-get-it done” spirit is kicking into high gear.
The greening of Detroit and urban farming, which has come up in countless urban redevelopment discussions, is mentioned in the article and highlights families and community groups that have banned together to create almost 900 urban gardens around the city.
Tech Town, the research technology park at Wayne State University, and the M1 Light Rail project are also highlighted, along with Detroit’s unique food scene. From the upscale restaurants run by celebrity chefs in the Book Cadillac and the MGM Grand to the quaint Mom-and-Pop owned eateries in Greektown and Mexicantown, Detroit offers a little something for everyone. Even Slows Bar-B-Q, which was featured earlier this month in the Detroit News is mentioned (Click here to read that article).
